“Darkness that can be felt.”
A thick darkness. Sounds like the premise for a Stephen King book, but that is what Exodus 10 records as a plague of darkness that swallowed Egypt. Said to be a “thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. [The Egyptians] did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days.
Want to know what that feels like? Imagine you are walking through a dark, pitch black basement and your flashlight suddenly goes out. As you move toward what you believe is the exit, you step into a face full of spider webbing. You gasp, possibly even cry out, step back quickly but it is too late, you have wet yourself.
To make it worse, scripture goes on to say that, “But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.” That makes the darkness covering Egypt a spiritual darkness. Consider that the Egyptians had lamps but didn’t light them. The couldn’t.
Now look at the ten plagues of Egypt juxtaposed with America today.
Plague 1 — water turned into blood, fish died; vs oil spills, pollution disappearing fish species like salmon and tuna netted to extinction.
Plague 2 — frogs; vs E-coli, Listeria, Illegal Immigrants purposely fouling the food supply, the infections and diseases of Sodom and Gomorrah spreading in our schools and colleges.
Plagues 3 and 4 — biting insects and wild animals; vs the stinging bit of political correctness and the ravenous creatures of Government overreach.
Plagues 5 and 6 — livestock disease and boils; bird flu, SARS, mad cow, chicken farms annihilated to stop the spread of disease. All hidden by a politically controlled Media.
Plague 7 — fiery hail; vs climate change, weather changing violently, glaciers and rain forests now all but gone.
Plague 8 — locusts; vs Baltimore, Ferguson, Charlotte, LA, the wild beasts of rampant racism, rampaging tribes intent only on destruction under the rallying cry, “Burn the bitch down.”
Plague 9 — darkness; vs “principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, spiritual hosts of wickedness.” One Nation Under God has been overrun by the Fallen and Christians stood by and watched it happen. That is the thick darkness of every single city ruled by Democrats. I dare you to walk down any street in any of those cities and then try to tell me you don’t feel the darkness or the quiet brush of cobwebs on your face.
Our lives, everything that we hold dear, are held by a single thread pinched between the thumb and first finger of God Almighty. If tomorrow afternoon while you work, you hear the blast of the trumpet, what scripture calls the ‘shofar’, it will be like stepping into that spider web in the dark. And too late to stop.
Plague 10 — For Egypt, it was the destruction of their society and political structure. It was also the beginning of a celebration called The Passover.
Pray. Hope. Personally, I don’t believe America can be fixed. The very odd Rube Goldberg Machine that is prophetic history has been set in motion and it is too late to turn back. Your best hope for family and friends is to make sure the blood of the Lamb is on doorpost and lintel.
Proof: Nixon deleted 18 minutes of tape and was run out of town. Hillary deletes 30,000 subpoenaed emails and is patted on the back. If on his first day in office, Barak Obama had signed an Executive Action banning the Pledge of Allegiance he would have been impeached within the month. Eight years later, no one batted an eyelash.
One Nation Under God has fallen and there is only One Way out.
